This was the first multi-band gig The Lapels arranged in Orkney. I'm not sure of the exact date, but think it was in late March or sometime in April of 1996. For some reason the event was called the Firestarter. This may have been for several reasons. The gig was in the original Phoenix Cinema, and Firestarter had been a big hit for the Prodigy at the time, but also, the first ever actual Lapels gig was in the final week of January at a club called Dominoes in Wick, Caithness, and during the night following the gig, the entire venue had burned to the ground. A very auspicious start for the band.
